On Monday 19 August 2024, EndTrachoma District Champion Sally Dell (9800 & 9815) and husband Peter departed Woodend on their third trip to Alice Springs with a trailer loaded with donations for communities in the NT.
Planning for this trip started in May. This included Sally washing and ironing all the clothes, colour coding the boxes for the relevant intended donations, renting storage space and trips to various locations collecting donations.
The trip took them from Woodend and staying overnight in Renmark, Pimba, Erldunda before arriving in Alice Springs on Thursday 29th August.
On the way, they stopped in Port Augusta and met up with District 9510 Champion Kerre Willsher who handed over 22 Toiletry Kits made by the Girl Guides in Whyalla. They met at the Arid Zone Botanical Gardens and had lunch. Kerre drove 50 minutes from Whyalla to enable the meet up.
Donations were received from: Rotary Woodend, Rotary Bayside Geelong, Buffalo Sports, Xavier College Kew, Olivia's Place Warragul, Fairview, FootScape, DIK, Rotary Gisborne, Whyalla Girl Guides, Woodend Knitting Group, Woodend Primary School, Rotary Warragul, Uniting Church Op Shop in Woodend,
